We have an amazing crew at Seven Cycles. I know, probably every company says that about their employees. Well, it is true at Seven—and now we have more proof. We just completed our employee bios. I posted examples of them all on my office wall the other day.
We actually have two types of bios: short ones that go inside the booklet that
comes with every frame, and long bios for our website. We are going to post the online bios soon, within
the next couple weeks, because we’re still finishing them up—that’s why we call
them ‘long’.
When we first began working on the bio project I was concerned that some folks wouldn’t want to do them—some people are private and I figured they wouldn’t want their information shared with ‘strangers’. Boy, was I wrong; it turns out that, so far, everyone has been psyched to take part. I think it is in large part because everyone is proud of the work they do on great bikes for great customers!
Embarrassing
The biographies are fun and enlightening; I am embarrassed to say that even I learned some cool stuff by reading each bio. We have lot of people that are very passionate about bikes and life.
So now, when someone gets a Seven, that person also learns a
little bit about the frame’s two most important ingredients: the people that built each frame, and the people that helped the people
that build each frame—those that make sure we have all the right parts, work
with our retailers, design each frame, make sure each frame’s on track, problem
solve and troubleshoot, communicate our message, and even the ones that try to
keep me in line.
I did say ‘try’.
Rob,
What a cool idea! This way when HubBub brags about Seven (which we do a lot) we can actually point to someone's biography and relate more than we originally learned at the "Immersion!"

Diane: thanks for the note. We are hopeful that this connection will be a good one. Also, if you would like Bike Booklets for your existing demo bikes, or existing customer bikes, we can send booklets--with the correct bios--to you.
